What is the difference between a quote and a site evaluation?
A quote is our estimated cost, but a site evaluation is where our expertise shines. We come to your property to inspect soil conditions, drainage, and existing grades. This ensures our final proposal is accurate and prevents ‘surprise’ costs once the heavy machinery arrives.
How long should I stay off my new driveway?
- You should stay off the driveway for a minimum of 3 to 4 days.
- During periods of extremely hot weather, it is recommended to stay off the driveway for 7 days if possible.
When will the asphalt surface harden completely?
- A driveway can lose its initial tenderness and finish oxidizing or hardening anywhere from thirty days to one year after installation.
- The continued flexibility of the material during this time is an advantage that helps the driveway last longer in the long run.
What should I avoid placing on the blacktop?
- Avoid placing sharp or pointed objects on the surface.
- Concentrated loads from items like bicycle kickstands, chair legs, tables, and ladders can cause indentations while the surface is still hardening.
- Gasoline and oil spills should be avoided as they will dissolve the asphalt and create holes.
How should I drive and park on the new surface?
- Do not park your vehicle in the same spot every time, as this can lead to holes and indentations.
- Avoid turning your steering wheel sharply while the car is standing still, as this scuffs the surface; instead, turn the wheels gradually while the car is in motion.
- Do not allow large, heavy vehicles to use the driveway.
- Avoid driving or parking near the edges of the driveway unless they are supported by a stone or concrete curb.
